This site is in Pyrford, situated behind Meath Cottage and approached by way of a long driveway with a very peaceful and secluded setting, away from the road.
There are detached double garages to both houses and both houses have individual, highly attractive elevations. Accommodation is to three storeys with concrete floors to each level and a spectacular gallery from the reception hall, which extends from the ground floor to the second floor, with galleried landings to the first and second floors.
Code 5
sustainable build
The Code for Sustainable Homes is a national standard to guide in the design and construction on sustainable new homes. It is set basically to assess the sustainability of a newly built house in relation to carbon emission and energy performance taking into consideration different categories such as energy efficiency, CO2 emissions, building materials, water usage and saving, etc. It consists of six levels, from 1 to 6, setting the minimum standards in relation to the ones set out by the Building Regulations. Code 5, in our particular case for the new houses in Old Woking Road, requires a 100% reduction in CO2 emissions that can be achieved by using appropriate materials and technologies that improve the energy performance of the building. The aim is that the new standards will be gradually incorporated in the Building Regs (Code level 6 is zero emission). As a result, he clear advantage for the house owners will be that a more energy efficient building will essentially have lower energy running costs.
